Hamas Terrorists are Irrational Actors in 2023

Proverbs 17:4

Palestine Leadership Abuse of Privilege.

“The Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange (Hebrew: עסקת שליט; Arabic: صفقة شاليط), also known as Wafa al-Ahrar (Arabic: وفاء الأحرار) (“Faithful to the free”), followed a 2011 agreement between Israel and Hamas to release Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit in exchange for 1,027 prisoners — almost all Palestinians and Arab-Israelis, although there were also a Ukrainian a Jordanian and a Syrian.

Two hundred and eighty of these had been sentenced to life in prison for planning and perpetrating various attacks against Israeli targets

Hamas military leader Ahmed Jabari was quoted in the pan-Arab newspaper Al-Hayat as confirming that the prisoners released under the deal were collectively responsible for the killing of 569 Israelis. The agreement came five years and four months after Palestinian militants captured Shalit in southern Israel along the Gaza Strip border.

The deal, brokered by Mossad official David Meidan through a secret back channel run by Gershon Baskin and Hamas Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Ghazi Hamad authorized by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on one side and Ahmed Jabari, head of Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades on the other side.

The list of prisoners to be released (based on previous work conducted by German and Egyptian mediators and coordinated by Bundesnachrichtendienst agent Gerhard Conrad),[ was signed in Egypt on 11 October 2011. Its first phase was executed on 18 October 2011, with Israel releasing 477 Palestinian prisoners and Hamas transferring Shalit to Cairo. In the second phase, which took place during December 2011, another 550 prisoners were released.

The agreement is, to date, the largest prisoner exchange agreement Israel has ever made and the highest price Israel has ever paid for a single soldier. Gilad Shalit was also the first captured Israeli soldier to be released alive in 26 years.”

Hamas Leader of Lawless Antisemitism

“Yahya Sinwar (Arabic: يحيى السنوار, romanized: Yaḥyá al-Sanwār, born 1962), also spelled Yehya Sinwar, is a Palestinian politician and the leader of Hamas, the Sunni Islamist political and military organization that controls the Gaza Strip. He has been the chief of Hamas in Gaza since February 2017, when he replaced Ismail Haniyeh. Yahya Sinwar was one of the co-founders of the security apparatus of Hamas.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahya_Sinwar

“Sinwar was first arrested in 1982 for subversive activities and he served several months in the Far’a prison where he met other Palestinian activists, including Salah Shehade, and dedicated himself to the Palestinian cause.

Arrested again in 1985, upon his release he together with Rawhi Mushtaha co-founded the Munazzamat al Jihad w’al-Dawa (Majd), an organization that worked, among others, to identify collaborators with Israel among the Palestinian population, which in 1987 became the “police” of Hamas.

In 1988, Sinwar planned the abduction and killing of two Israeli soldiers and the murder of four Palestinians whom he suspected of cooperating with Israel.

He was arrested on February that year; during questioning he admitted to strangling two of the victims, inadvertently killing another during a violent interrogation, and accidentally shooting the fourth during an attempted abduction, and showed investigators an orchard where the four bodies were buried.

He was sentenced to four life sentences in 1989. He tried to escape several times but was always caught. In 2008 while serving a prison sentence he was operated on by Israeli doctors to remove a tumor in his brain to save his life.

Sinwar served 22 years of his sentence, and was the most senior Palestinian prisoner freed among 1,026 others in a 2011 prisoner exchange for IDF soldier Gilad Shalit, who had been held hostage by Hamas for five years.”

Israel Doctors Save Sinwar life in 2008

“In 2008 while serving a prison sentence he was operated on by Israeli doctors to remove a tumor in his brain to save his life.”…

“You were unmindful of the Rock that bore you, and you forgot the God who gave you birth.”

Sing Out A New Year Poem 2023

Happy New Year Poem! 2023

Poem by Angela Jelf.

Ring out the old, and ring in the new,
Another year passes, but one thing is true,
A thousand small blessings have slipped through my hands,
Moments uncountable, vast as the sands.
Ordinary days that have come,
And then gone,
A sunrise, a sunset,
A whisper,
A song.

Times spent with family,
Long summer days,
Here for a moment,
Then gone in a haze.
I wish I could hold all these moments forever,
Time marches onward,
But love ceases never.

So I’m thankful, so thankful,
For all that has been,
For the highs and the lows,
And the bits in between,
This journey of life
With its ups and its downs,
The trials and the triumphs,
The joys and the frowns,
This life I’ve been given,
I long to embrace,
To cherish each moment,
Each dear, precious face,
Yet to live in surrender,
Not grasping too tight,
To live for eternity
To walk in the light,
Knowing this life is a gift from above,
That it all comes from you,
Oh great Father of love.

New Year’s Resolution and a Clean House: Make It Happen

http://christmasinlapland.net/new-years-resolution-clean-house-make-happen/

Russia Has a New President Selected for Ukraine 2022

Russia Has a New President Selected for Ukraine 2022. Why would anyone think otherwise? That does not mean that they will win over Ukraine resistance. Soviet Union invasion attempt on Finland 1939 failed.

Russian leaders have meticulously planned a change over the Ukraine Government. That may sound like fiction to those that have not read the Soviet Union’s history.

The setting was in 1939. The Soviet Union General was given orders From Stalin to plan an invasion and takeover of Finland so that Stalin could change of Government of Finland to be more compliant to Stalin’s whims.

A CLAIM FOR A TRUE WORLDVIEW.

What was the Soviet Union Invasion Plan in 1939?

SOVIET UNION INVASION PLAN 1939

The Soviet military forces were organized as follows:

The 7th Army, comprising nine divisions, a tank corps, and three tank brigades, was located on the Karelian Isthmus. Its objective was the city of Vyborg.

The force was later divided into the 7th and 13th Armies.

The 8th Army, comprising six divisions and a tank brigade, was located north of Lake Ladoga. Its mission was to execute a flanking maneuver around Lake Ladoga’s northern shore to strike at the rear of the Mannerheim Line.

The 9th Army was positioned to strike into Central Finland through the Kainuu region. Composed of three divisions with one more on its way. Its mission was to thrust westward to cut Finland in half.

The 14th Army, comprising three divisions, was based in the Arctic Port of Murmansk. Its objective was to capture the Arctic port of Petsamo and the Nickel mine and then advance south to Rovaniemi’s town. On November 30, 1939, Soviet forces crossed over the Finland border with 21 divisions, a total of 450,000 troops

Soviet Set, Up A Puppet Government For Finland before the Invasion.

“Psychologically and politically, the Soviets had prepared Soviet puppet State representatives for the Finland government after the occupation.

The de-facto Kuusinen’s Government was a Soviet puppet set up as future Finland’s people’s Government.

They called it the Finnish National People’s Government.

It was signed on December 1, 1939.

Soviet Foreign Affairs Commissar Vyacheslav Molotov officially signed the agreement.

Soviet Union Aggression

“The Soviets mustered up vast resources for their push westwards towards Europe. Bolshevik’s lawless energy, Socialist ideology, and the Communist State Atheism megalomania for global domination.”

The goals of the war against peace became blatantly clear as soon as the invasion had begun in 1939.

The goal was an occupation takeover, followed by a russification process. Subjugating people to Soviet Russian pseudo-socialism.

Spiritually it was the corrupting influence of the Nemesis, using temptations, exploiting others, and using political means and military power to move obstacles away from the communist leadership goals.

The Soviets set up a fake government for Finland’s future, led by Otto Ville Kuusinen, to his predecessor Terijo.

The Soviet armies also brought their army brass bands to play music at ceremonies.

Mr. Ville Kuusinen’s history goes back to 1918 to the time of the Expulsion of the Bolsheviks from Finland. They did not accept the Independence of Finland as a reality. They were obstinate in making Finland a communist country, with Russia in charge of Finland’s governance.

The de-facto Kuusinen’s government plan was signed by the Soviet foreign minister, Joseph Stalin, and the new Foreign Minister, Kuusinen, moved from Finland to Soviet Russia and created a political career as the Soviet Union in 1922 in the communist party of a changed state. Mr. Ville Kuusinen had signed an agreement with the Soviet Union leaders to replace the democratically elected Government in Finland that was elected into parliament in 1939.

Soviet Union State Atheism from 1922 to 1991 is revealing. It reveals the character flaw that rebellion and anarchy movements produce. It also reveals the primitive nature of paganism that is obstinate to the God-given Spirit of the Natural Law.

The ten instructions were given to humanity some 3460 years ago. (Exodus 20).

An extremely intelligent being who shared the information with humanity is described as God (YHWH).

Human incorrigibly obstinant self-will refuses to submit to the Spirit of the Natural Law.

People steal, covet, give false reports, disrespect parents, disrespect the Creator of Life, etc. They violate God-given instructions.

That sets off the violence, wars, divisions, and the same spiral of hatred escalates.

The Blind Stupidity of the Soviet-Russian Leadership.

God says DO NOT STEAL.

God Says DO NOT COVET YOUR NEIGHBOURS LAND.

God says DO NOT MURDER.

God Says DO NOT GIVE FALSE REPORTS.

God Says DO NOT HAVE NATIONALISTIC IDOLS

God Says DO NOT WORK SEVEN DAYS A WEEK

God Says DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY

God Says DO NOT USE THE NAME OF YHWH TRIVIALLY

God Says HONOUR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER

Source: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus%2020&version=NIV

How do the Soviet Russian leaders react to the God-given ten instructions?

The Soviet-Russian leaders blatantly violate them without any fear of God (YHWH).

Therefore, they are enemies of God. Therefore they deserve the damnation that goes with the territory.

Romans 1:29-31 NIV

“They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. “

How does that list sit with the Russian leadership 2022?
wickedness
  • wickedness
  • evil
  • greed
  • depravity
  • envy
  • murder
  • strife
  • deceit
  • malice
  • gossip
  • boastful
  • invent ways to do evil
  • disobey their parents
  • no understanding
  • no fidelity
  • no love
  • no mercy

All Bible based believers including Russian and the Ukraine Bible believers, should pray the Romans 1:29-31 verses to God, and ask God to honor his Holy Word, and to punish those that blatantly violate God’s will on earth. Soviet-Russian leaders are blatantly violating Gods will on earth by their evil deeds.

SOVIET PUPPET ATTEMPT ON FINLAND

Teri-River (Teri-joki) pseudo Government was a Soviet set up intended to lead future Soviet Finland. Obtrusive and brutish, push and a shove to remove the rule of law from a democratic republic of Finland. A diabolical blunting and disregard for any genuine spiritual quality or effort for the human moral consciousness, for the democratic process. When Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler had agreed to the Nazi German-Soviet Pact of Aggression, of the Baltic States, and Finland, on the diabolical Satan scale, 1-10, it is already peaking from the 1939 Poland invasion at around 8 points. It peaks further for the Soviet leadership in 1940 with the Genocide of the 22,000 Polish nationals. And for the Soviet troops heading to Germany,

PRESIDENT NEW YEARS DAY SPEECH 1940

The President of Finland Kyösti Kallio. (1937-1940).

To Suomi people and friends! (Translated from Finnish to English by author). “As President of the Republic, it has been a tradition of mine that on the first day of the year to send out greetings message through our radio broadcasts, to create a brief overview of our societies and economic development. This time I have to give up on the practice because now there is only one thing that is on our mind, to rescue our fatherland from the attacker’s reach that has struck its claws on our governing body. Our bodies.

“The old imperialist Russia, throughout history, has been a threat to the Finnish people, once again manifested its old instincts and without the slightest legitimate reason to attack our country. Russian Tsar Imperialism has collapsed, but the imperialist practices have been inherited to its current rulers, even though their teacher guru Lenin declared when he came into power to be respectful of the sovereignty and self-determination of the peoples on the fringes of the old Tsar territory. “

In practice, it has turned out to be words only. Initially, the sovereignty of the peoples who had the national strength to rise and watch over their independence, and they did gain independence, but now the Soviet Union leaders appear to be strong enough to demand influence over those countries as well. (growing military strength emboldens Soviet union leaders to demand control of the neighbors). Such a request even though initially was cautious, was also made to Finland. From the experience of centuries, Finland was aware of what it was all about.

“Peace-loving-People like Finland, it tried to get the requests presented to us through negotiation, however, the apparent requests of the Soviet Union turned out to be demands on Finland’s own security and interest were to be relocated and diminished. The Soviet Union, as usual, made its claim under the guise of security of Leningrad, but in reality, it was the transport connections between the Gulf of Finland and Petsamo fjord control and disposal, weakening of Finland’s defense capabilities in the Gulf of Finland, Karelian Isthmus and the Port of Petsamo.”

None of the Leningrad’s insecurity could have been the truth of the matter because already in Tartu’s peace agreement it was agreed that Finland could not fortify Leningrad region, or the islands along the waterway and the shoreline area near Leningrad, nor the Finnish fishermen’s island area at the Port of Petsamo.

“In the negotiations, the Soviet representatives acknowledged these guarantees as sufficient about Finland but required additional guarantees that no superpower could take advantage of Finland’s territory in a potential war against Russia. That was also an excuse because Finland is always there openly said that it wanted to stay away from the conflicts between the great powers and laments himself against every foreign power that seeks to offend his sovereignty.”

Russia’s invasion of Finland when the negotiations were still unfinished. Moreover, they delivered a demand for the appointment of the Communist government to our unconquerable country, shows that it had been presumptuously decided to occupy Finland and at the same time to engulf the country with the spirit of the Bolsheviks politics, when the initial requests as they were, was not granted.

“Our country was in a state of readiness that Russia did not get us by surprise, even though there is a non-fortified border over 1,000 kilometers. They attacked the border right away in some points, not caring less, and completely ignoring the agreements that we had with them, e.g., the resolution of mutual disputes by peaceful means.”

Ruthlessly attacking using airplanes on the capital and other settlements by killing children, women and other civilians. Through these acts, the Soviet Union revealed at the beginning of its agenda. This raw assault brought together the front the whole of the Finnish people, whose national self- esteem and the blood felt love for the liberty of our independence, which every year we are increasingly strengthened. Our defense is intact and indivisible.

“Our Parliament has unanimously drawn up laws that show its long-awaited consideration today. Defense work does not only involve men but also women who are sacrificing themselves; the versatile operation is of great value. The proportion of women today more noticeable when they are receiving, and part of the refugees and relocating process with incredible pride and with serenity adapted to both sides of the new conditions.”

During this great trial of our nation, we have the consolation among us, cooperation and unity. It seems as if the people of Finland in the great distress found themselves. Moreover, that is why we need to rejoice. The sacrifice we now need everywhere is of high divine origin. Sacrifice His work and resources for the neighbor is significant, but to sacrifice himself, the life of his country, and For his people is still much higher. In front of its vulnerability, we are silent, and we humble to thank God for great suffering and sorrows to awaken new life values. We sincerely regret that we have been subjected to warfare that requires victims. But we have no other way to protect our independence than a sacrificial battle for our existence sake.

“A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to greet our superiors ‘officers and crews and express our gratitude to our peoples for the different positions that stand for the protection of our home and the whole motherland. These two fateful weeks that we have since lived have given us their own for our people and the whole world, new testimonies of the battle readiness of our defense Forces, perseverance and above all the unity and cooperation they have shown on land, at sea, and in the air.”

On behalf of our people, without mentioning anyone individually, or forgetting anyone, for everyone to our country defenders are heroic and deserves deep praise. This equally grateful greeting is also presented to those wounded at the front lines, laying in the hospitals from their acts of courage. Which I have pointed out they are carrying the hard fate continually remembering their comrades who are on the front lines.

“However, above all, we take a moment of silence to give respect to the many who have sacrificed their lives for our common homeland. Moreover, you, mothers, fathers, spouses, children, brothers and sisters, who are doing heavy work at home you will know this during this fateful Season, with greetings with the consent of knowing that every hand you know, that this is now about the existence of our nation and the future of which we all are Responsible for. Let us continue to carry our burdens each in place with the same unity and bravery. Every work for the motherland is now essential and necessary.”

Tips for Choosing a New Year’s Resolution for 2020

Choosing a New Year’s Resolution for 2020 needs some personal reflection and quality quiet time. Planning should always have a priority and allocated time.

As the first of the year quickly arrives, you may stop and think about the New Year.  If you are like many other Americans, you may opt for a New Year’s resolution.  But what should it be?  How can you choose the perfect New Year’s resolution?

Look at the main aspects of your life

These aspects are health, family, and finances. Carefully examine each and you may automatically get your New Year’s resolution.  Have you been letting your health slip?  If so, make a quest to eat healthily and visit the doctor more.  Have you been focusing too much on work?  If so, make your New Year’s resolution spending more time with family.  Are you in debt?  Make this your year to get out from under it.

Consider your stress sources

We all have stress.  Unfortunately, many individuals mistakenly believe that stress is unavoidable, but it doesn’t have to be.  Look at what causes you stress.  It is an unclean house, long hours at work, or limited financial resources?

In most cases, New Year’s resolutions are designed to change and improve one’s life.  Now is your chance to do so.  Examine your sources of stress and see what ones you can change.  For example, you can lose weight, improve your productivity at work so you don’t have to work late, spend more time with your family, or limit your purchases to get out of debt.

Pick one New Year’s resolution at a time

As previously stated, you should look at the main aspects of your life and stress sources to decide on a New Years’ resolution.  Since stress is every day and a lot causes it, you may automatically come up with three different New Years resolutions.  This is nice, but pick one and stick with it.  It is easy to get out of debt or lose weight, but you may find it too difficult to do both at the same time.  To increase your chances of making your New Year’s resolution right, don’t put too much on your plate.

Write down your options

As mentioned above, it is common for many Americans to have many aspects of their lives they want to change.  Most want to have better relationships with their families, lose weight, or get out of debt.  Since you are encouraged to start with one goal at a time, write down all of your options. Carefully examine them and see what is most important to you.  That should be your New Year’s resolution.  Also, don’t throw your list of goals away.  Keep it.  If you meet your Near Year’s decision early in the year, work on the rest of your list.

Choose a realistic New Year’s resolution

One mistake that people make is aiming too high.  Yes, it is good to do so, but that often results in disappointment.  That disappointment causes many to stop trying altogether.  Do you want to lose weight?  Good.  Instead of saying you must lose 30 pounds by March, give yourself the entire year.  This way you are not in a rush.  When you give yourself time to achieve your New Years’ resolution, you are more likely to see it become a reality.  If you set realistic goals, they will be easier to meet.  In fact, if you do so early, start working on other aspects of your life to improve.  You do not have to wait until New Year’s to make a change.

Many use New Year’s resolutions to make a significant life change.  You do not have to do so too.  Are you in good shape, have a good relationship with your family, and are not in debt?  If so, you may not have a huge goal to set.  That doesn’t mean that you can’t make a New Year’s resolution.  Instead, think of something small but meaningful.  For example, redecorating your home, buying Christmas gifts ahead of schedule, or helping others in need is unique, but good resolutions.

Historic View OF arctic Finland

Historic view of Arctic Finland article post is taken from the Bloggers Guide To Arctic Finland Book.

“Kuolajarvi village was lost to the Soviet Union in 1939, and the township relocated West some 50 kilometers and given a new name Salla. Kuolajärvi town also translated as Kola lake in Lapland, in the fifteenth century had eight towns; one of them was called Kola Lake. In the local Sami language, the word Kola is translated to mean; plenty of fish.”

“Natural Borders. The towns of East Lapland had well defined natural borders; they were not separated by rivers but rather by watersheds, the high ground and by the ridges. The Kola lake Lapland had two gathering groups; each of the towns had eight to twelve mature working males, often grouped together to hunt and to catch fish in the season. The combined population in the kola lake Lapland region was less than one hundred and thirty working males, according to the official tax records.
Traditional hunting

Hunting increased in the fifteenth century, as the Sea traders got access to the White Sea. Karelian and Russian fur traders, Sweden and Denmark extended their trading, the demand for fur increased In Fennoscandia. At Kola Lake Lapland hunting game was; marten, otters, and bears. These items were highly valued, the hunting continued until the early sixteenth century.

The mainstay for a living was from trapping beavers, wild reindeer, and from the fish catch of trout, salmon, arctic char and pike, up until the seventeenth century.

Trading of general goods like tobacco, hemp, butter, and other food ingredients, for the quality furs of the wild Kola lake Lapland.

Reindeer’sat the time were valued for transport, meat supply, furs, and for the antlers. The concept of herding large stocks and the reindeer husbandry had not caught on as it did later on.

Early in the eighteenth century the Kola lake Lapland reindeer population went through many lean years, as the people migration increased from the south, more reindeer were being trapped and hunted, and it could not be sustained any longer. So it brought about a fundamental change, the new concept of reindeer farming was introduced, which would protect and increase the family herds of reindeer for the future.
Cultural Village Hub

The houses were built with timber and peat, built near the waterways, rivers, and streams. Some of the populated areas were at the Naruska River, Kola Peters ridge, and on the town Ridge, west side of the Salla River. Kola Lake was historically a well-established settlement, including antiquity, a hub of the locals, and well known by the traveling nomads and goods traders from Karelia.

By the end of the eighteen century, the population of Kola Lake had increased by some twenty folds to over two thousand. As the reindeer, cattle, horses, and sheep were raised in the Kola Lake Lapland, the natural predators; wolverines, wolves, and bears soon became aware of the new stock, and their stalking of the stock animals became a problem.”

Tips for Choosing a New Year’s Resolution 2019

God and School Policy

God and School Policy

It has not always been a problem to have a religious faith and still attend public school. But in some ways, that task has gotten more difficult in the last few years. Now people of faith are used to living in a world where there are a lot of different religious points of view. That leads to conflict, discussion, and interaction between peoples of various belief systems and that is healthy.

But in the last few years, it seems that there have been a lot of different interpretations of The First Amendment. It appears that as many people see that part of our founding documents as being a rule that dictates freedom FROM religion as much as it does freedom OF religion.

So the question that must be confronted is not whether your child can live in a secular school where there are people who don’t like religion or have other faiths. But that is part of training your child for life to be able to be who they are which might be different from who other people are. The real issue is whether at the administrative level schools are becoming more oppressive so much so that people of faith are being forced to go “into the closet” and hide their values and their religious beliefs.

From the perspective of a parent of a family of faith, the decision about whether to try to work it out with the public school system so your kids can enjoy all the benefits of public school and still maintain their faith with some integrity versus going down the private school route is a tough one. Large public schools do have much more diverse programs, and better facilities than small faith-based private schools can afford. A big public school often has very well developed physical education, sports programs, and gym facilities. The academic diversity is stronger because there are so many more students to offer courses for.

These are all big pluses for your kids. And kids don’t always like the idea of being separated from the rest of the population just because they have a religious faith like they were lepers or somehow not acceptable because of their religion. But that is the message that is often passed to youth who not only are devout in their beliefs but live those beliefs out without shame.

Acknowleging The Creation of Life

To even have a religious study or prayer time at school is often attacked as somehow violating the separation of church and state. Of course, anyone who understands that part of our legal system knows that The First Amendment restricts merely Congress from passing laws that violate that separation. There is nothing in The First Amendment that says that individual citizens cannot be people of faith and that they cannot openly exercise their faith. In fact, that is what The First Amendment was written to protect.

There are some values to moving your kids to religious-based private schools to consider as well. These kinds of schools often offer a good variety of faith-based classes where your child can get credit for studying religious documents or learning elements of the faith such as worship or religious music studies. And because the school is private, prayer and open exercise of the religion is not only encouraged, it is included in the curriculum in the classroom, at assemblies and in every aspect of school life. Your kids may be able to enjoy a school experience with other kids from their temple or church and not face all of that conflict that becomes so tiresome in the public school setting.

So it’s a decision that will take some thought, prayer, and discussion. But you do have options about the lifestyle you want your kids to experience in their school lives. And it’s always good to have options.

Big Schools Big Programs Ratio

Big Schools Big Programs Ratio

Comparing the good things that can be offered between school programs can get difficult. Picking a school for your kids isn’t as cut and dried as it was when we were young. Only a few decades ago, the public school system was the only alternative to get an education for children and since having our kids in school is mandated by law, that was that.

But in the last decade or so, many legal alternatives to public school have become available to parents including private schools and homeschooling options. It seems each year the diversity of programs that you can take advantage of to get a good education for your children or teenagers grows. So you have to have some priorities to compare schools by so you know what the best option for your child and for your family is.

Private Versus Public Schools

Private schools are an entirely different world from public school, and that is the idea. Because the school is a for-profit institution run outside of the oversight of government, as long as they meet the educational requirements to be considered a valid school, private schools can operate with much more liberty to have a religious, political or cultural focus that is specific to a particular niche in society.

One of the great things the private school movement has made available to parents are schools that can focus with greater effectiveness on a particular learning disability or on an area of excellence of a specific group of students. So you can have a private school devoted to the performing arts on one side of town, another dedicated to helping learning disabled kids on the other and another school focused on religious education for Jewish kids, and all of them are strong private schools who are legal and legitimate schools in the eyes of the state.

Also because private schools are funded by parents, if their base of financial security is active, the teacher’s salaries can be higher as can the quality of programs and equipment is often much higher than their counterparts in public school. Many times private schools have highly desirable campuses with beautiful classrooms, cafeterias, libraries, and gyms because of the support of the parents and alumni of the school.

Now to balance our comparison, public schools do have some real strengths as well. Because many public schools, particularly those in large communities, educate thousands of students literally, the funding from the state for educational resources is large to meet the need. So because these schools must “think big” to provide programs for such a diverse population, the number, and complexity of programs is also very often large and well developed.

Large public schools have both the blessing and the curse of big populations so they can boast the “big schools, big programs” benefit. Very often sports programs in large public schools are second to none and if your child is looking to excel at sports, perhaps even seek a career in sports, coming up through large public school sports programs is a feeder system to the collegiate levels and then on to the professional ranks where big success can be had.

The same can be said of other professional areas of development including theater, band and academic competitive clubs. Because of big schools complete inter-scholastically on an enormous scale, they can afford the most excellent coaches and facilities, and they are underwritten by the state because the success of these schools brings growth and financial benefits to the area. This is an area of strength big public schools can boast that very few private schools can match.

To complete your analysis of what kind of educational setting is right for your family, you may want to also review homeschool options as that movement is developing rapidly and fitting the needs of many families as well. How you finally make your choice will depend to a considerable extent on your financial resources and the needs of your family and your children.

Many children do very well in the small intimate cultures that private schools can provide while others require the great settings of public schools to find programs that fit their needs. But by doing your homework to determine exactly what is best for your educational situation, you can make the right choice to give your child the finest these school systems have to offer to fit your son or daughters educational requirements.

A Place Where You Cannot Protect Your Child

A Place Where You Cannot Protect Your Child

There are a lot of reasons that parents consider pulling their kids out of public schools and putting them in private institutions. The quality of education and lower teacher to student ratios often are sited. Private schools can do better with special needs or working with students with unique talents as well. But by far the biggest reason for the exodus from public schools is the issue of drugs and violence in public school settings.

Parental Guidance of Children at Home

There have been plenty of movies that focus on gang life in high schools and the influence of adverse peer pressure that your child might undergo if exposed to harmful elements at school. But oddly enough, the Hollywood representation of the impact of drugs and violence in public schools understates the case rather than overemphasizes it. To be blunt, the impact of drug cultures and of violent individuals can easily cause profound changes in your child and changes that are far from what you want for your offspring.

As parents, we want our children to mix with other kids with the same values and children who have ambition and good goals in life so the sound teaching you have given to your kids in childhood can come to good fruit in their teen years. Unfortunately, in many public schools, kids who are not there for education but have other agendas including illicit sex, drugs, criminal activity or violence are often seen as heroes and emulated by other kids. It is very easy for your child to fall in with the wrong kids in such a place and go down the wrong path before you have a chance to stop it.

Learning the Hard Way, Tragic Mistakes.

The tragic stories of such things happening are far too familiar and they break the heart of any parent who wants only the best for his or her child. Some of the faults come from the fact that the law requires that the state and city support public education for every child in the community. That naturally means that your child will be in classes with people who could have a negative influence on him or her. It is literally a place where you cannot protect your child and a place where even if your child has strong values and resists the influence of the drug culture and the temptations offered there, they still could become a victim of random violence that frequently occurs in such schools.

School Funding

Despite the sizeable public education budgets we read about in the papers, public schools are always chronically underfunded. That means that classes are too large and teachers are often unable to control antisocial behavior in class. The worst outcome of such an explosive situation is violent outbursts where people get hurt or worse. At the very least this kind of setting makes a quality education virtually impossible and your child will come home traumatized and just glad to have survived the day rather than coming back happy and challenged academically.

In the last few years, large-scale school shootings have made our concern for the safety of children at public school an even more significant concern. Yes, schools have responded with tighter security and more efforts to keep students intent on killing others from reaching your kids. But it is a public situation, and the continued incidence of school shootings shows that even high-security measures can only go so far.
These dangers make private school an attractive alternative. While even at the private school level, security is not guaranteed, the smaller community can do more to know the students well, counsel those who are troubled and build the kind of community that discourages the influence of drugs and violence. And that is the kind of educational setting we all want for our kids.
